Greencastle ties for 5th: The Blue Devils competed in the 8-team Octorara Girls Tournament on Saturday and ended up tied for fifth place with East Pennsboro in the team standings.
Among the seven G-A girls who competed, one reached the final. At 106 pounds, Aniuta Pavlii scored a pin in 12 seconds in her semifinal bout, but was pinned by Emily Boyer of Kutztown. Pavlii took Boyer down in the first period and led 3-0 after one, but in the second, Boyer earned a takedown and scored the pin off of that move.
Katy Bream won a third-place medal at 136, and Jazmin Corbin (118) scored 2 pins to place fourth. Brandy Trail (136) also pinned 2 opponents on her way to fifth place.
Hannah Vazquez (100) and Rachael Graham (142) also placed fifth, while Riley Martin (148) was sixth.
