BOYS BASKETBALL
Greencastle-Antrim 70, East Pennsboro 50: The Blue Devils put on a shooting display early, took a commanding lead over the Panthers and rolled to a big victory on Friday night at home.
“The boys played really well,” G-A coach Todd Stephens said. “We started out shooting well, the ball kept going in, and that gave us even more confidence.”
Greencastle is 9-3 (7-0 MPC) and now holds a 2-game lead over East Penn and Northern in the division standings.
The Blue Devils jumped out to a 22-5 lead after one quarter, and increased it to 44-21 by halftime. The Panthers got the lead down to around 15 but could get no closer.
Alex Albright put up 19 points to lead Greencastle, and Ryan Schick’s 18 points — a career high — was huge. Dez Holman added 10 points and Cooper Green added 8.
Stephens said, “Albright did a really nice job defensively against No. 13 (Hadyn Lay, who was held to 11 points), and Ryan had a really nice game. I was glad to see him have a breakout game.”

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Greencastle-Antrim 50, East Pennsboro 29: After a slow start, trailing 7-6 against the winless Panthers, the Blue Devils got it going and rolled to a Mid Penn Colonial victory Friday night in Enola.
By halftime, G-A (5-7, 3-4 MPC) held a 14-point lead.
“We didn’t start how I would have liked,” Blue Devil coach Scott McKeever said. “We need to get better at that, but once we got moving and brought the game up to our speed, things went much better.
“Our five starters are getting used to playing together and Alannah (Coleman), Morgan (Baer), Miranda (Martin) and Braelyn (Cordell) all contribute off the bench.”
