Greencastle-Antrim 50, West Perry 22: The Blue Devils used a strong defensive effort to limit the Mustangs to single digits in each quarter and produced a Mid Penn Colonial victory in Elliottsburg on Thursday night.
Greencastle (4-4, 1-3 MPC) used pressure, both full-court and in the half court to rattle West Perry (2-5, 1-3 MPC). It limited the Mustangs’ open looks and led to quite a few transition baskets at the other end.
G-A coach Scott McKeever said, “We finally had back-to-back practices and we were able to put in some new stuff and work on the old. All of that really made a difference. The girls are getting better and making changes during the game and it really showed tonight.”
The Blue Devils put three players in double figures. Ellie Bigler came up with 14 points (11 in the first half), Sophie Fries totaled 12 and Callie Izer contributed 10. Braelyn Cordell and Kiersten Swain each scored 5.

Greencastle-Antrim 52, West Perry 31: After a slow start, the Blue Devils gradually stretched their lead over the Mustangs and took a comfortable victory — their fifth straight — Thursday night in a Mid Penn Colonial game at game.
Leading only 8-4 after one quarter, Greencastle (5-1, 3-0 MPC) led 19-11 at halftime and 35-17 after three periods.
The Blue Devils had two players in double figures — Alex Albright with 14 points and Dez Holman with 13. Greencastle was 7-for-11 at the foul line.
The Blue Devils’ defense held the Mustangs (2-4, 1-3 MPC) to 7 or fewer points in all but the final quarter.

Chambersburg 51, Greencastle-Antrim 12: The Blue Devils were within 15-12 after 5 bouts, but the Trojans did not lose after that and earned a Mid Penn Conference victory at CASHS Field House on Thursday evening.
Hannah Vazquez led off with a forfeit win for Greencastle (3-5).
At 130 pounds, Anna Booze scored a pin for the Blue Devils over Alejandra Cole Rosales. Booze took Rosales down and notched the pin in 1:47.
Brandy Trail took a 1-0 lead into the third period at 142, but Alba Rojas of Chambersburg (6-2) reversed her to her back and got a pin in 5:35.
In a good battle at 112, the Trojans’ state qualifier of last year, Jessica Li, bested Aniuta Pavlii, 9-6. Li led 3-2 after one period and used a 2-point nearfall and takedown to carry an 8-3 lead into the final period. Pavlii took Li down to get within 2 points, but Li added an escape before the final horn.
