GIRLS SWIMMING
Central Dauphin 113, Chambersburg 56: A depleted Trojan squad was able to win a couple of events and produce some good times, but the Rams were able to pick up a Mid Penn Commonwealth win Thursday afternoon in Linglestown.
“It’s tough to win against a great and deep team when almost half of your team is missing from the meet (with illness),” Chambersburg coach Abbie Reichelderfer said. “I can’t complain about our effort.”
Calla Hoffman won the 200 freestyle for the Trojans (0-3, 0-2 MPC), and Audrey Keller touched first in the 100 butterfly.
Reichelderfer pointed out several girls who had personal bests or season bests — Emily Wolfe (100 backstroke) and Jade Uglow (100 breaststroke) had personal bests, and 3 swimmers in the 500 free had season bests (Brooke Reichelderfer, Emma Skultety and Caitlyn Rankin).
“Our relays put up a huge effort today,” coach Reichelderfer said. “I know these girls are all working really hard, trying to improve their technique and it is starting to come forward.”

BOYS SWIMMING
Chambersburg 86, Central Dauphin 84: A 1-3-4 finish in the 100 backstroke made a big difference in the Trojans’ close win over the Rams in a Mid Penn Commonwealth meet at Linglestown on Thursday afternoon.
Cristian Pong (1st), Griffin Adamek (3rd) and Colby Evans (4th) created a 6-point swing in the backstroke late in the meet and enabled Chambersburg (2-1, 1-1 MPC) to hang on.
“Christian was behind for the first 75 meters and finished with passion to barely touch-out his CD opponent,” Trojan coach Chad White said. “That event basically put us in the driver’s seat for the victory. This meet was intense and fun. The boys raced well and every point mattered.”
Chambersburg placed first and third in the 200 medley relay. Amir Tasker, Ethan White, Pong and Luke Ritchie came in first, and Cullen McGraw, Xavier Covington, Adamek and Evans came in third. Evans also had a key fourth in the 100 freestyle that caused a 2-point swing.
Double winners for the Trojans included Tasker (500 and 100 free), Pong (100 fly and 100 back), McGraw (200 and 500 free) and Ethan White (200 IM and 100 breaststroke). The 200 free relay team also placed first, a group of Tasker, White, Pong and Covington.

GIRLS WRESTLING
Chambersburg 51, Greencastle-Antrim 12: Trojans were successful in relaunching the use of the Auxiliary Gym for wrestling by defeating Greencastle in a Mid Penn Conference meet Thursday night.
“I really liked the aggressiveness of our girls,” Chambersburg coach Josh Sherman said. “They really worked heavy hands in neutral. We emphasize moving our opponents around and hand fighting to open scoring positions and it was on display tonight.”
Chambersburg (6-2) notched 4 consecutive pins from 136 to 155 to sew up the win. Reagan Evans (136, pin in 0:18), Alba Rojas (142, 5:35), Hadyn Fritz (148, 0:35) and Daryn Glasgow (155, 1:23) scored the falls. Rojas trailed 1-0 against Brandy Trail until a reversal and pin in the third period.
At 112, Jessica Li squared off against a tough opponent in Aniuta Pavlii of Greencastle (3-5). Li had two takedowns and a nearfall to lead 8-3 after two periods, and took a 9-6 victory.
Sherman said, “That was the match of the night, and a rematch from last year. Jess is giving up some weight at 112, but showed some grit tonight.”
