BOYS BASKETBALL
McConnellsburg 67, Tussey Mountain 27. Brayden Ramsey’s game and season high 26 points lead the Spartans to victory over host Tussey Mountain Titans in a cross-conference game on December 15th.
The Spartans (4-0, 1-0 ICC-S) grew a five-point first-quarter lead into a 14-point advantage by halftime (29-15), then broke away with 24 points in the third to trigger the mercy rule. The Spartan defense held the Titans to an average of seven points per quarter, recording 21 steals and eight blocks, and finishing with a 40-point margin. Eight players scored; standout performances included Ramsey (who shot 53% from the field and had four steals), Hoyt Glenn (15 pts, 4 reb, 4 ast, 5 stl), and Jake Hann (9 pts, 6 reb, 4 ast, 3 blk, 1 stl). The win continues a nine-straight trend for the Spartans over the Titans.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
McConnellsburg 56, Fairfield 25. The Lady Spartans visited the Fairfield Lady Knights for a non-conference game on December 13th and showed strong teamwork to victory. The Spartans stormed out to a 20-0 first quarter lead and maintained a sizable gap to victory (4-1, 0-0 ICC-S).
Serenity Rengifo led all players with a season-high 23 points and six boards while Journie Jefferson added 18 points, her season’s second highest. Defensively the Spartans held the scant-teamed Knights scoreless in two quarters while continuously rotating in bench players. The entire team contributed to the win that saw seven players score and eleven collect at least one rebound.
