By Jeff Richards
Boys Soccer: McConnellsburg 13, Southern Huntington County 0:
On October 15th, McConnellsburg Spartans hosted the Southern Huntingdon County Rockets in a conference rematch and secured their 10th consecutive shutout, the 15th of the season, and encapsulated a perfect season (18-0, 10-0 ICC-E).  The Spartans scored nine goals in the first half and won decisively, demonstrating both strong offense and solid defense.

In the first half, the first goal, two minutes in, was scored by Hoyt Glenn on a short header from precisely placed corner kick by Brayden Ramsey.  Four minutes later, the second goal was scored by Grady Shives on a pass from Jace Fletcher.  Two minutes later, the third goal was scored by Glenn via a pass from Shives.  Ten minutes later the fourth goal was scored on a breakaway by Glenn via a pass from Shaffer Earley.  Twelve minutes remaining, Glenn received a short goal kick, effortlessly juked and controlled the ball around and past four defenders and at the last second faked out the goalie and passed hard left to a marching Noah Jefferson, who short kicked it for the next goal.  A pretty play to see.  Two minutes later, the sixth goal was scored by Jefferson on a pass from Glenn.  One minute later, Lincoln McKelvy scored goal number seven on a pass from Fletcher.  Two minutes later, Earley scored the eight goal on a goalie rebound.  With two minutes remaining, DeShong scored the ninth goal on a pass from Glenn.

One minute into the second half DeShong scored the 10thgoal on an assist by McKelvy.  Two minutes later, Ramsey scored 11th goal assisted by McKelvy.  After fifteen minutes, the 12th goal was scored by Shives with a McKelvy pass assist.  With 11 minutes left, McKelvy ran the field length and scored unassisted, which eventually capped the night at 13-0 and completed the undefeated season.

The Spartans have amassed five wins with margin of 12 goals or better.  They have now won 15 matchups by three goals or more so far this season.  Seven different players booted in a goal. Hoyt Glenn led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals.
