Blue Devils capture 3rd place: The Mid Penn Colonial held a match at Eagles Crossing G.C. on Wednesday afternoon and Greencastle-Antrim placed third in the team standings to even its record at 15-15.
Shippensburg won the team race with 226 strokes, beating Northern York by 11 and skipping past the Polar Bears for first place in the season standings. James Buchanan was fifth and Waynesboro took sixth.
The Greyhounds’ Ben Horgos took medalist honors, firing a 1-over par 73.Kaden Ramsey tied for sixth (83) and Kaydee Beckenbaugh tied for eighth (84).
For the Blue Devils, Camden Eby shot an 80 for fourth place and Bryce Davidson and Landon Summers both shot 85 to tie for 12th.
The Rockets’ top finisher was Abram Stock (79, tied for 2nd) and Caiden Shacreaw of Waynesboro also posted a 79.

Shippensburg 3, Greencastle-Antrim 1: The Blue Devils couldn’t quite keep up with the Greyhounds on Wednesday afternoon at Kaley Field in a Mid Penn Colonial matchup.
“It was a hard-fought game; we had a lot of good passing connections, but we couldn’t finish,” G-A coach Keara Allshouse said.
Natalie Medina scored the goal for Greencastle (1-3, 1-3 MPC), with the assist going to Serenity Goodman.
Goalie Rebecca Jones made 14 saves, while defenders Maggie Spidel, Ava Linka and Acacia Long each made a save.
Allshouse said, “Our defensive unit worked hard, stopping many possible goal scoring drives, including Jones diving into the air to stop a chip to the top of the goal.”
