Greencastle-Antrim 10, Big Spring 0: The Blue Devils played a complete game when they needed one, hammering the Bulldogs in their final Mid Penn Colonial game of the season Monday at home.

That gives Greencastle a record of 10-8 (8-6 MPC) and bumps them inside the line for District 3 playoff qualification. G-A should finish either No. 13 or 14, and the top 14 qualify. The Blue Devils are scheduled to play at Mechanicsburg on Tuesday, which is the cutoff date for games, but a rainout appears eminent.

“It was nice to see us come out and play up to our potential in a must-win game,” Greencastle coach Eric Shaner said. “The last three games have been like playoff games. We’re playing a winning style of baseball now that we should have played earlier, but it’s better late than never.”

Carter McCauley pitched another fine game for the Blue Devils, limiting Big Spring (9-10) to just 4 hits and one walk over his 6 innings of work. He struck out 2 Bulldogs.

G-A had 4 players contribute 2 hits each in a 12-hit attack. Elvin Robles was 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs, Jaxson Bostick went 2-for-4 with a pair of runs batted in, Manny Brookens had a 2-for-4 day with an RBI and Andrew Weaver went 2-for-4. McCauley also contributed a 2-run home run in the fourth inning and scored 3 times.
