BOYS LACROSSE
Chambersburg 20, Cedar Cliff 6: Senior Night was kind to the Trojans, as they trounced the Colts in a Mid Penn Commonwealth game at Trojan Stadium on Tuesday night.

Andrew Lenherr

“All eight of our seniors contributed today,” Chambersburg coach Joey Wilmot said. “Seniors Andrew Lenherr, Jeremy Ordonez and Andrew Brumage played really hard and played some of their best lacrosse today. Aydan Younkin, Quinn Makosy and Jaxson Thomas all scored, defender Conner Munson had an assist and Austin Kireta played well on both sides of the field.”

Lenherr had 2 groundballs and a caused turnover, while Ordonez and Brumage each had a groundball and a turnover.

Ryan Cosey led the scoring with 7 goals and an assist for the Trojans (7-9), and Matt Tucker piled up 5 goals and 2 assists. Blake Dupont had 3 goals and a pair of assists.

Also getting into the stats were Makosy (2 goals, 2 assists), Younkin (assist), Wyatt Pyne (goal) and Kellen Sanders (8 saves).

GIRLS LACROSSE
Cedar Cliff 17, Chambersburg 12: Trojan coach Shane Henry said it was “the best game we have played this year,” but it wasn’t quite enough to defeat the Colts in a Mid Penn Commonwealth contest on Tuesday afternoon in New Cumberland.

Brynn Sekel

“Overall, the team played such a complete game today against a tough opponent,” Henry said. “We were connecting on all of our passes, working the ball, being patient and completing plays. Our defense was outstanding and really communicated.”

For Chambersburg (6-10, 6-9 MPC), Reagan Barrett scored 4 goals and added an assist and 2 caused turnovers, Brynn Sekel had 3 goals, an assist, 2 caused TOs, 2 groundballs and won 10 draw controls, while McKenna Myers had 3 goals and 2 assists.

Also, Mollie Yardley-Gontz and Adele Henry scored a goal each, Reese Heverley made 6 saves and Bree Keefer-Fanny had 2 saves.

Coach Henry said, “Brynn was in another world today. What you don’t see in her stats is her intensity and determination on the field. Reagan has had three outstanding games back-to-back-to-back. We’ve got two games left to get one more win (to break the program’s record for wins in a season).”
