GIRLS LACROSSE
Chambersburg 12, Mifflin County 5: The Trojans won their 6th game of the season on Saturday over the Huskies in a Mid Penn Commonwealth game in Lewistown, tying them for the highest number of wins in a season in program history with the 2018 team.
“We played solid defense today, resulting in 17 caused turnovers,” Chambersburg coach Shane Henry said. “Sarah Wilcox played confident defense and she was playing really scrappy and controlled D.
“Reagan Barrett really pressed their defense today and they struggled to stop her. She also caused six of the 17 turnovers herself. We need to continue to focus on taking care of the ball. But to get up early and travel that far, I’m really happy with their effort today.”
Barrett scored 4 goals for the Trojans (6-8, 6-8 MPC), followed by Brynn Sekel with 3 goals, 3 caused turnovers and 6 draw controls.
Adele Henry had 2 goals, 2 caused turnovers and 3 draws; McKenna Myers had 2 goals, Mara Costolo scored a goal and contributed 2 assists, and goalie Reese Heverley made 8 saves.
