Greencastle-Antrim 12, Waynesboro 0: Kiersten Swain fired a no-hitter and nearly had a perfect game as the Blue Devils dusted the Maidens 12-0 in a Mid Penn Colonial game Tuesday afternoon at Waynesboro.

Swain pitched 5 innings and struck out 9 batters, with the only baserunner coming on a walk to the third hitter in the third inning.
The potent offense of Greencastle scored in each of the first four innings to stake Swain to a 12-0 lead. It had 12 hits off Waynesboro (4-10) , including 4 extra-base hits.
The Blue Devils started quickly — the first three batters reached base to load the bases. Kylie Kerns hit a sacrifice fly to make it 1-0, then Kaidyn Zimmerman belted a 3-run home run.
Zimmerman ended the game with a 3-for-3 night with a homer and triple, and drove in 5 runs. Meadow Gambacurta also went 3-for-3 and knocked in a pair of runs. Caroline Logsdon hit 2 triples and scored 3 times. Paiton Gordon also had 2 hits for G-A (14-1, 11-0 MPC).

Waynesboro 14, Greencastle-Antrim 1: The Indians tallied 10 runs in the third inning and cruised to a Mid Penn Colonial victory over the Blue Devils at G-A on Tuesday afternoon.
“I completely failed to have my team prepared to play today,” Greencastle coach Eric Shaner said. “Waynesboro played a great game, but we did not perform to our standards, and that is 100% my responsibility. We need to get back to practicing with a passion that can actually prepare us to win against good teams like we did early in the season, and then compete in games with that same passion.”
The Blue Devils (7-7, 6-5 MPC) had 5 players get one hit each and Nolan Sullivan drove in his team’s only run.
G-A’s pitchers allowed 13 hits and 8 walks.
For Waynesboro (7-7, 5-6 MPC), John Kahl pitch all 5 innings, giving up 5 hits, no walks and striking out 6. Calvin Myers went 3-for-3 with 2 runs batted in, and Riley Eaton was 3-fof-5 with 3 RBIs.
