SHIPPENSBURG — Athletes from all of the Franklin County schools competed in the 98th annual Jack Roddick Invitational at Shippensburg University and came up empty for gold and silver medals on Saturday.
Blake Mallast
The highest finish was a third place effort in the boys 200 dash by Blake Mallast of Chambersburg. He was timed in 21.29, not far behind the winner, Jesse Myers of State College (20.93).
Derek Lynch of Shippensburg threw the discus 164-6 to earn a fourth place.
Liam Kirkpatrick of Chambersburg took sixth in the 3200 (9:30.55) and also finished 11th in the 1600.
For the girls, Gabby Cechini of Mercersburg Academy placed fifth in the 3200 in 11:05.2, and was also 10th in the 1600. Waynesboro’s Jaeda Dockman placed 6th in the high jump (5-4) and was 9th in the long jump.
The Greencastle-Antrim 4 x 100 relay team of Aqueelah Hogue, Kadence Abbott, Abigail Szumetz and Jaylynn Schmuck placed fifth in 52.10.
