Chambersburg 4, Northern York 1: The Trojans opened their season with a victory over Northern York in a non-league match on the road Monday afternoon.
Chambersburg won two of the three singles matches and swept the two doubles matches.
No. 1 Ian Flores Sanchez won his bout with ease, taking a pair of 6-0 sets. At No. 3, Micah Detweiler outlasted the Polar Bears’ Andrew Rosewag in three sets by virtue of a strong third set, 6-2, 4-6, 6-0.
At No. 1 doubles, Dhruv Patel and Caden Brenize combined for a 6-4, 6-4 victory, while at No. 2 doubles, the Trojan team of Eli Keeler and Nate Weis teamed up for a 6-2, 6-1 win.
No 2 singles player Luke Detweiler dropped a competitive match, falling 7-6, 6-3 to Northern’s Zach Graby.
