DOVER — District 3 held its Class 3A boys diving championships on Saturday at Dover H.S. and Chambersburg came up with a fourth-place finisher in Keagan Myers.

Myers, a senior, finished with a score of 376.85 to win a medal and qualify for the PIAA Championships.

“Keagan had an excellent day, performing all of his dives consistently,” said Chambersburg coach Heather Brindle. “I knew he had a good shot at fourth place going into his last dive, but I was nervous for him. But he did not disappoint and nailed the dive.”

Alex Wodehouse of Governor Mifflin won the competition.

Brindle said Myers excelled on his forward 2 somersaults in pike and his forward 2 1/2 somersaults in tuck, and performed a forward dive with 1/2 twist that scored 7.5s from the judges.

Sophomore Nolan Diehl also competed Saturday and placed 12th in his first district competition.

Brindle said, “This was a great experience for Nolan and will prepare him and motivate him for districts next season. I was very proud of these two boys today. I’m excited about Keagan going to states and looking to two more years with Nolan.”
