GIRLS BASKETBALL
McConnellsburg 41, Everett 54.  On Monday, February 3rd, the Lady Spartans visited the Everett Lady Warriors for an Inter-County Conference (ICC) game.  The Warriors controlled the first half of the game and created 42 points, then held off a moderate Spartans second half surge to secure the win.

The first half the Everett’s victory was powered by four players scoring in double figures: Jade Colledge (15), Addy Wood (12), Morgan Bowser (12), and Kirstin Feathers (11), thanks to a strong first-half performance of those 42 points (17 field goals (15 two-point, 2 three-point) and six for ten at the free throw line).  At halftime, the Warriors had a resounding lead of 21 points, the score was 42-21.  The second half the Spartans outscored the Warriors both quarters by four points respectively, but the Spartans ran out of time and fell short of a forceful comeback to close the gap and take the lead.  This loss knocked them from the momentary first ranking in the ICC South.

The Spartans (14-6 overall, 5-2 ICC South) were powered by two players scoring double figures: Serenity Rengifo (22) and Journey Jefferson (11).
