Shalom Lady Flames defeat Camp Hill

The Shalom Lady Flames, who went into the Lion’s Den at Camp Hill on Tuesday night and came out with a 39-26 victory. The Flames started quickly, but the Lions came roaring back to get within 3 by the end of the first quarter. The Lions outscored the Flames by 2 points in the second quarter and were only down 1 point at halftime. 

Kyla Sanderson of the Lions started the second half with a quick three-pointer to take the lead, but the Flames Addison Adams responded with a crucial three-point shot, putting the Flames back ahead by one point, a lead they would never relinquish. Going into the fourth quarter, the Flames held a four-point lead. They played suffocating defense in the 4th quarter allowing only two points and won the game going away.

The Lady Flames showcased excellent team defense, especially in the second half as Julianna Myers stepped up for Adams, who faced foul trouble in the third quarter. Despite playing through an ankle injury, Kaitlyn Thomas made significant contributions inside.

Adams led the Flames’ balanced scoring attack with 12 points. She was supported by Emily Rebok, who had 9 points, and Sydney Moore, who contributed 8 points and played great defense off the bench. Maya Lehman added 6 points and played a crucial role in securing several rebounds late in the game while guiding the Flames to their tenth win.

This win was especially significant as the Flames faced the #3 team in the District 3 AA power rankings. Currently ranked #2, the Flames look forward to their upcoming home game against cross-town rivals the CVCS Lady Blazers on Friday at 6:45 PM.
