The Cumberland Valley Christian Blazers outscored Calvary Christian in every quarter and posted a 48-26 victory Monday evening in a Mason Dixon Christian Conference girls basketball game.

Addison Teal fired in a career-high 32 points to lead the Blazers on a night they were missing two starters. Second-leading scorer Makenna Morris is out with a shoulder injury, and Reagan Witmer is away on a trip.

“Addison was incredible on the offensive end,” Blazers coach Corey Collins said. “Being down two starters, we needed some people to step and she took that challenge. Cecilia Hott gave us great minutes in her first varsity start.”

Teal scored nine points in the first quarter as the Blazers (7-4, 3-1 MDCC) jumped to an 11-4 advantage. They led 23-14 at the half and 32-18 at the third-quarter break.

Chloe Smith scored six points, Kaitlyn Garvin added four, Peyton Bricker four and Brielle Gleason two for the Blazers. Teal and Smith each grabbed a team-high six rebounds, and Hott added five. Teal and Hott each contributed six steals, and Garvin added four.

Last week, in their first two games after the holiday break, the Blazers lost 31-23 to Broadfording on Thursday and defeated Faith 44-19 on Friday.

Against Broadfording, Teal scored 11 points, Morris and Smith four each, and Bricker and Hott two each. Against Faith, Teal led with 20 points, followed by Smith with 11, Morris with six, Hott with four and Olivia Coccagna with two.
