McConnellsburg 64 Claysburg-Kimmel 36. The Spartans hosted Claysburg-Kimmel in a cross-conference game Friday, January 3rd and turned early Bulldog miscues into Spartan opportunities and scores to run away with a 28-point decisive win.
In quarter one, the Bulldogs were held scoreless for nearly the first six minutes and after the Spartans had stormed to a 30-point lead of 32-2. The Bulldogs picked up steam in the second quarter posting 17 points to the Spartans 13 with the halftime score 45-19. Scoring remained modest in the second half as more bench player mixing occurred with the score at 55-25 after three, then closing at 64-36, but the large margin remained throughout.
This victory brings the Spartans (8-1 overall, 1-0 ICC South) season win streak to seven-straight, seven by twenty-plus points, and fifth straight by twenty-plus points.
The Spartans were led by senior guard Dom Jefferson with a game high 23 points and flanked by Brayden Ramsey (14) and Hoyt Glenn (14).

GIRLS BASKETBALL
McConnellsburg 40, Claysburg-Kimmel 33. The Lady Spartans traveled to Claysburg-Kimmel to face the Lady Bulldogs for a cross-conference game Thursday January 2nd and held a scant lead at half and after the third, then up-paced to a seven-point win to capture their eighth straight victory.
The Bulldogs held the first quarter lead by two. The Spartans then outscored 12 to 7 to regain the lead by three by second quarter end, 21-19. The Bulldogs won quarter three by two and closed to one with Spartans holding the lead 28-27. In the fourth, the Spartans stepped it up and doubled the Bulldog points to take the win.
Journey Jefferson led the Spartans (9-2 overall, 1-0 ICC South) with 10 points and five rebounds. The Bulldogs relied heavily on the three-point shot firing off 31, yet sank just seven (22.5%) and went five for 24 of two-pointers (21%). This was the closest competition for the Lady Spartans since their two-point win on December 11th against Northern Bedford County.
