Fannett-Metal Beats Faith Christian Academy in Consolation Game

The Tigers (4-4) took on the Falcons from Faith Christian Academy in the Consolation Game of the 51st Annual Fannett-Metal Christmas Tournament. The two teams played to a 17-17 tie in the first quarter of action. Broc Hostler had 9 points in the opening period. In the second quarter, the Tigers switched defenses and held the Falcons to 5 points. The Tigers pounded the ball inside in the second quarter with Landon Arnold scoring 11 points and Evan Wingert scoring 4 points. Jake Coffman knocked down a trey in the quarter as the Tigers went into halftime with a 35-22 lead. The Tigers continued solid defensive play in the second half as they rolled to a 65-35 victory over the Falcons.

Landon Arnold had a monster game for the Tigers with 26 points, 14 rebounds and 8 assists. Broc Hostler had a double double with 15 points and a season high 12 assists. Evan Wingert had 20 points and 5 steals. Jake Coffman returned to the lineup and had 3 points, 3 assists and 1 steal. Gage McClure had 6 rebounds and 2 steals. Parker Lantz had 2 rebounds and Colton Daniel had 1 point.

In the opening round, Shalom Christian Academy ambushed the Tigers to claim an easy 86-48 victory. The Flames jumped out to a 28-6 lead and never looked back. Evan Wingert led the Tigers in scoring with 21 points. Broc Hostler had 14 points and 6 assists and Landon Arnold added 8 points and 4 rebounds. Colton Daniel chipped in the final 5 points.

The Flames lost 54-31 to the McConnellsburg Spartans in the tournament final. Hoyt Glenn from Mcconnellsburg was the tournament MVP. Other All Tourney Selections were: Brayden Ramsey(M), Dom Jefferson (M), Cason Martin (SH), Ethan Hubers (SH), and Evan Wingert (FM).

The Tigers will return to action on Friday night when they travel to Rockwood.
