BOYS SWIMMING
Trojans set two records: School records by Cristian Pong and the 200 medley relay team led the way for Chambersburg’s boys swim team Friday, which competed at the Cumberland Valley Holiday Invite and put up some excellent times.
“It was a non-scoring meet; it was just to get some good racing in against great competition in the pool that holds the Mid Penn and District 3 championships,” Trojan coach Chad White said.
The first school record to go was the medley relay. The team of Amir Tasker, Ethan White, Pong and Alex Kaczmark finished in a time of 1:35.76, which broke the previous record of 1:36.26 held by C.J. Pong, Michael Johnson, Robby Pong and Aidan McMillen.
Pong then swam the 100 butterfly in a first-place time of 49.21, which snapped the record of his brother, C.J. Pong (49.26).
Chambersburg had two other first-place efforts — Tasker won the 200 free in 1:41.17 and Kaczmark hit the wall first in the 500 freestyle in 4:39.96. Runner-up places went to Ethan White in the 500 free (4:48.39) and the 400 free relay team of Tasker, Kaczmark, Cullen McGraw and White (3:10.59).
Pong’s time in the 100 fly and Tasker’s in the 200 free are the best posted in the PIAA so far this season. Kaczmark’s time in the 500 free is the No. 2-ranked time and the 400 free relay’s time is the third-best time so far in the state.
GIRLS SWIMMING
Girls compete at CV: Chambersburg’s girls swim team participated in the Cumberland Valley Holiday Invite on Friday against 5 other teams — CV, Central Dauphin, Boiling Springs, Emmaus and Souderton — and earned places in the top 10 in 8 events.

Brooke Reichelderfer had a personal best in the 100 fly and a season best in the 500 free. Ava Grove had a season best in the breaststroke. Many of the newer girls dropped lots of time as well.”
