Shalom girls defeat Lancaster County Day

The Shalom Lady Flames bounced back from a tough loss to Springdale Prep earlier in the week with an impressive 48-38 victory over the Lancaster Country Day Lions on Friday.

The win was fueled by standout offensive performances, particularly from Maya Lehman, who delivered a stellar 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting, along with 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Addison Adams contributed 13 points on 6-of-12 shooting, while Emily Rebok added 9 points and an impressive 11 rebounds.  Sophomore Julianna Myers picked up 4 big assists from her forward position.

Despite a slow start that left them trailing at the end of the first quarter, the Flames found their rhythm in the second and third quarters, outscoring the Lions 30-11 during that stretch. While some late-game sloppiness allowed the Lions to narrow the gap, the Flames held their ground to secure the 10-point victory.

This win improves Shalom’s record to 5-2. The team has some time before their next matchup, scheduled for January 6, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. at Fairfield.
