Shippensburg moved to 5-0 with a convincing 42-13 win on the road at Mifflin County.  Shippensburg rolled up 340 rushing yards and held the Huskies to just 143 yards of total offense.  Mark Carothers Jr. posted a career-high 146 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Hounds.

The Greyhounds opened the scoring with a six-play 70-yard drive.  It was capped by a fourth down Brady Maciejewski 35-yard strike to a speeding Jaden Hines for the score.   The Hounds turned it over on downs for the next two possessions but capped their first half with a six-play 52-yard drive.  A superb one-handed catch by Aydin Mentzer from Maciejewski went for 25 yards.  Maciejewski finished the drive with a one-yard sneak.

Mifflin County got on the board late with Brice Rishel’s one-yard run after an interception right before the half.

The Hounds came out and dominated on both sides of the ball.  The Hounds scored a pair of touchdowns in both quarters.  Three of the four drives took 16 minutes off of the 24 minutes second half.  The game’s last score, Carothers Jr. sprinted untouched 48 yards for a score.

Hines stuffed the stat sheet with 73 rushing yards, 35 receiving, and 3 pass breakups.  Statum chipped in with 75 as it seemed the Huskies game plan was to shut him down.  The Hounds defense kept the Huskies from converting on third and fourth down (0-7 on third and 0-2 on fourth).  On Mifflin’s seven third downs, they did not gain a yard and lost 20 on the two fourth.

Up next is a home game with Lower Dauphin (2-3) coming off a loss to Hershey 13-3.
