The Cumberland Valley Christian Blazers got goals from six players en route to a 6-1 victory over Frederick Christian Friday in a non-league boys soccer game.
The Blazers (2-0) got two quick goals to take the early lead.
Turner Egolf opened the scoring with an assist from Gage Brookens, who then added a goal of his own, assisted by Titus Hott. A.J. Sloan continued the onslaught, capitalizing on another assist from Brookens. Jackson Kellogg made it four, thanks to a setup from Cody Frey, to make the score 4-0 at halftime.
In the second half, Micah Ramsey added the fifth goal, with another assist from Hott, before Liam Wenger capped off the scoring.
“Nathan Minnier earned Player of the Game honors with a stellar defensive performance, making several key stops,” Blazers coach Stan Hott said. “We are still learning to find ourselves. Our chemistry is just not there yet, but we are getting better.”
