It was Greencastle’s fourth consecutive District 14 Championship.
Greencastle is 6-0 sweeping both pool play and the district tournament.
Saturday’s win was typical Greencastle, with production from the entire lineup, strong pitching, and good defense.
Greencastle jumped on Newville with a five run first inning. Leadoff hitter Ryan Emlet singled, Kolston Piper doubled, then Maze Gordon followed with a two-run single, Asher Horst reached on a fielders choice, scoring Gordon to make it 3-0, and error and a wild pitch each scored a run to put Greencastle up 5-0.
Greer Barkdoll singled leading off the second inning, and Emlet followed with a two-run homer, making it 7-0. On the next pitch, Piper hit a home run giving Greencastle an 8-0 lead. Greencastle made it 9-0 on an error.
Back-to-back doubles from Bryce King and Chase Cordell gave Greencastle a 10-0 advantage. Greencastle made it 11-0 on a wild pitch.
The game ended after four innings with the 10-run rule.
Greencastle blasted out 13 hits in the game. Cordell, Emlet, and Piper each collected two hits; six of the 13 hits were for extra bases—home runs from Emlet and Piper and doubles from King, Cordell Piper, and Reed Sholes.
Maze Gordon pitched all four innings for Greencastle, allowing no runs on two hits, one walk, and four strikeouts.
In six games, Greencastle’s pitching has allowed just three earned runs and eight hits in 28 innings, with a 0.48 ERA.
Greencastle’s team average is .509. Greencastle has scored 84 runs and collected 88 hits in 173 at-bats.
Greencastle will play Warwick at Reading American Little League on Sunday, July 14, at 4:00 p.m. Greencastle will play on Monday. If they win, on Sunday, the game will be at 5:00 p.m. If they lose, it will be at 8:00 p.m.

The four-team tournament includes Greencastle, Warwick, East Side, and Dillsburg. The winner will advance to the Pennsylvania State Little League Tournament, which will be held July 23-29 at Newville.
