Northern York 4, Greencastle-Antrim 2: The Blue Devils mustered a pair of runs off Polar Bear pitcher Colin McDonald, but could not manage a hit and dropped a Mid Penn Colonial game in Dillsburg on Tuesday afternoon.
“We need to learn how to win,” Greencastle coach Eric Shaner said. “We need to do more of the little things like Northern did today. And we need to do a better job with two strikes and put the ball into play.”
G-A (2-3, 1-2 MPC) opened the scoring in the top of the fourth inning. Ryan Farrow walked and went to third on an errant pick-off throw. Briggs Remenick drew a walk and stole second base, and when the throw got away, Farrow scored and Remenick moved to third. He scored on Carter McCauley’s sac fly.
Landon Huth got the start for G-A and went 4.1 innings, allowing 4 hits and no earned runs. Ben Horst suffered the loss with 1.2 innings of work. McDonald went all 7 innings, giving up no hits, two unearned runs, walked 6 and struck out 6.
