Southern Fulton wins opener over Tussey Mountain

The SF Indians opened the season by defeating Tussey Mountain 5-0 on Saturday at the Forrest B Mellott Sports complex in Warfordsburg.

A ground out by Paul Hendershot put the Indians on the board in the bottom of the first and they never looked back as they won 5-0.

Hendershot earned the win for the Indians. The sophomore righty surrendered only one hit and zero runs over four innings, striking out seven and walking one. C Jones took the loss for Tussey Mountain. He went four innings, giving up two runs on three hits, striking out four and walking two. Owen Oakman collected the 3 inning save for SF. The sophomore righty shut the door on the Titans as he only surrendered two hits and struck out 4.

Joel Fitz, the number nine hitter for the Indians, led the way with two runs batted in by going 1-for-2 on the day. Ethan Powell, Jett Burger, Hunter Ward, Fitz, and Mark Fitz each collected one hit for Southern Fulton Indians.
