Next week is the start of PIAA District 3 tournaments in boys and girls soccer, girls volleyball and field hockey, and five Franklin County teams have qualified for the playoffs, with four earning first-round home events.

In boys soccer, Chambersburg earned the No. 4 seed in Class 4A. The Trojans (12-4) will host No. 13 Central York (7-9-1) on Tuesday in a first-round game at 7 p.m. at Trojan Stadium. Should Chambersburg win, it will host a quarterfinal game next Saturday against the winner of No. 5 Manheim Township (9-4-3) and No. 12 Hempfield (6-10-1).
In Class 3A, Greencastle-Antrim and Shippensburg qualified. The Blue Devils (15-0-2) gained the No. 5 seed in a difficult bracket and will face No. 12 Susquehannock (10-6-1) in a first-round game Monday at 7:30 in the second game of a doubleheader at Kaley Field. The winner will play either No. 4 Kennard-Dale (14-1-1) or No. 13 Cocalico (11-3-3) in a quarterfinal on Thursday at the higher seed.
Also in 3A, the Greyhounds (11-6-1) got in as the No. 16 seed and will play Monday at 7 at Hershey H.S. against the No. 1-seeded Trojans (16-0). The winner plays Thursday in a quarterfinal against either No. 8 East Pennsboro (13-2-2) or No. 9 Lower Dauphin (12-5-1) at the higher seed.
In girls 3A soccer, Greencastle (14-3) is the No. 5 seed and will host No. 12 Spring Grove (9-7-1) in a first-round game Monday at 5:30 at Kaley Field. The winner moves into Thursday’s quarterfinal against either No. 4 Red Land (13-5) or No. 13 York Suburban (11-5-1) at the higher seed.
Greencastle also qualified in girls volleyball and the Blue Devils (15-1) enter as the No. 2 seed, guaranteeing home-court advantage through the semifinals if they keep winning. G-A takes on No. 15 Cocalico (8-8) in first-round action Tuesday at 6 p.m. The winner plays the winner of No. 7 Garden Spot (13-6) and No. 10 Bishop McDevitt (13-4) on Thursday in the quarterfinals.
