FIELD HOCKEY
Cedar Cliff 3, Chambersburg 1: A depleted Trojan team kept it close in a Mid Penn Commonwealth defeat to the Colts in a road game Thursday afternoon.

“Most of our defense was out for various reasons and we had some very young girls in the back,” Chambersburg coach Kelsey Baker said. “I’m pleased with how they rose to the occasion. It can be really stressful to play defense and those young girls did a great job.”

Jaxin Frazer scored the goal for the Trojans (0-11, 0-7 MPC on a penalty stroke.

Baker said, “Our midfield did a great job connecting — you could see the chemistry. Mara Costolo, Jaxin Frazer, Morgan Smith and Casie Vanaman were playing beautifully. They’re starting to connect and it’s fun to watch.”
