The Cumberland Valley Christian Blazers controlled most of the possession and defeated Bishop Walsh of Cumberland, Md., 3-0 Monday in a non-league boys soccer game.

Preston Conner broke a scoreless tie late in the first half by sending a shot from the right side into the left corner of the net.

With the score still 1-0, Blazers goalkeeper Gabe Beckering had to come away from the net, and as a Bishop Walsh shot looked as though it was going to roll in, defenseman Evan Statler came in from the back side and knocked the ball away before it could cross the goal line.

The Blazers (10-2-1) then scored twice in the second half on goals by Landon Kellogg and Turner Egolf.

Cort Stouffer, Christian Booher and Finlay Smith contributed assists, and Beckering came up with nine saves.
