BOYS SOCCER
Greencastle-Antrim 4, Gettysburg 2: Although the Blue Devils were scored upon for the first time this year, the offense came through, especially Noah Parks, and they took a huge Mid Penn Colonial win over the Warriors at Kaley Field on Wednesday night.

The game was tied midway through the second half when Parks pounced on a pair of defensive errors by Gettysburg to score two goals.

“Due to some adjustments we made, it allowed Noah Parks to get some extended minutes,” G-A coach Aric Bruner said. “And he certainly took advantage. He took a through ball from Ewan Coy and slotted it home after it was misplayed, then got his second goal when their goalkeeper misplayed it.”

Cooper Noblit scored the game’s first goal on a breakaway, but Gettysburg answered on a 20-yard shot by Luis Martinez-Gonzales, which was the first goal allowed by Greencastle (7-0-1, 6-0 MPC) this season.

The Warriors went ahead early in the second half, 2-1, but just 16 seconds later, Garrett Decker tied it up with a long shot after a pass from Nolan Sullivan.

Bruner said, “We made some adjustments to get Decker into the midfield and it paid off big-time. It was nice to see us answer playing behind for the first time right away with Decker’s firecracker of a shot from 30 yards out.”

Ethan Ford made 6 saves for the Blue Devils.
