Fannett-Metal (8-9) snapped a five game losing streak with a 13-3 five inning victory over visiting Southern Huntingdon.
The Rockets took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning but the Tigers answered with four runs in the bottom of the inning.
Drew Goshorn led off with a single. Jake Coffman walked and Goshorn moved to 3rd when the ball got away from the catcher. Coffman swiped second and both runners scored on Landon Arnold’s two run single. Arnold stole second and moved to 3rd on Adam Hammond’s single. Arnold scored on Broc Hostler’s RBI groundout. Hammond would eventually score on a wild pitch to make it 4-0.
The Tigers added two more runs in the second inning, four runs in the third and three more runs in the fourth to take a 13-2 lead into the 5th inning.
In the big 3rd inning, Landon Arnold ripped a triple to center to score Coffman. Broc Hostler had a 2 run single in the inning.
The Tigers pitched right hander Landon Arnold and held the Rockets in check with 8 strikeouts and 1 BB in five innings. He scattered five hits and allowed 3 runs ( 2 earned) in the shortened contest.
Offensively, Drew Goshorn, Landon Arnold, Adam Hammond, and Broc Hostler each had a pair of hits. Hostler had 3 RBIs. Jake Coffman reached base four times and scored four runs while adding three stolen bases. Hammond scored four runs and had a pair of stolen bases. Wade Appleby and Tucker Seibert each had a hit.
