Chambersburg 19, St. Maria Goretti 3: The Trojans matched their season-high in goals Thursday night at Trojan Stadium and that added up to a non-league victory over the Gaels in their season finale.
“We had an amazing final game tonight to end the season,” Chambersburg coach Keara Allshouse said. “It was an emotional night, but the team played united and left it all out on the field.”
Gabriella Sabatino had a big night on attack for the Trojans, who finished 5-11. She scored 6 goals and added 4 assists. Ridglee Flohr was right behind with 5 goals and 2 assists.
Also tacking on goals for Chambersburg were Taylor Mickey (3), Hanna Woolf (2), Mara Costolo (1), Ava Zeigler (1) and Maryn Henry (1). It was Henry’s first career goal.
Mickey, Woolf and Zeigler each had one assist.
Allshouse said, “I am so very proud of how far these ladies have come this season and I cannot wait to see what our seniors accomplish next year on and off the field.”
Flohr will play at Marymount University, Woolf plans to play at Shippensburg and Ellisa Gamby-Mickey will play at Wilson College.
