The Tigers(4-1) went on the road Monday evening and beat the Titans 7-3.

Fannett-Metal took the early lead in the first inning when Jake Coffman reached on an error, stole second and was in the process of swiping third when the catcher’s throw sailed into the outfield allowing Coffman to race home.

The Tigers added a run in the third when Drew Goshorn scored on Landon Arnold’s RBI single.

While Tiger pitcher Landon Arnold was taking care of business from his end, the Tigers  continued to add to their lead offensively.   In the 4th, the Tigers erupted four runs to chase Titan starter Jack Stoudnour from the game.

In the big 4th inning, Broc Hostler led off with a single, stole second and moved to third on a passed ball.   He scored when Drew Goshorn’s squeeze bunt was perfectly placed allowing Goshorn to also reach base.  Goshorn stole second and scored on Jake Coffman’s RBI single.  Coffman scored on Arnold’s RBI single and Arnold touched home on Daxton Detweiler’s RBI single.   The Tigers added an insurance run in the 7th when Arnold tripled and scored.

The Tiger’s sophomore right hander Landon Arnold was dominant through six innings.  He fanned 14 Titans while allowing only 2 walks and 2 hits.  “After the first inning, Landon pounded the strike zone and challenged the Titans all game long with his fastball.   He mixed in his off speed as needed but overall he pitched a solid game today”, Coffman said.  Drew Goshorn pitched the 7th.  He had a pair of walks, 2  strikeouts, and gave up one hit while allowed 3 runs.

The Tigers had 8 hits on the day.  Landon Arnold had 3 hits including a triple to lead the offensive attack.  Goshorn, Coffman, Detweiler, Hostler and Logan Hall each added a hit.  The Tigers had 10 stolen bases on the day with Arnold having four and Coffman three.  Tiger’s  outfielder Kristan Koser recorded a pair of nice catches on the day.

The Tigers visit Northern Bedford (5-1) on Wednesday evening for an ICC match up.
