Southern Fulton shuts out Fannett Metal

Paul Hendershot threw a gem on Thursday for the Southern Fulton Indians (4-0, 2-0). The freshman hurler allowed zero runs, 2 hits, and 1 walk in 5 innings to defeat Fannett Metal (3-1, 2-1) by a score of 10-0.

The Indians got things started in the first as they took advantage of a Tiger error to score and take a 1-0 lead into the second inning.

SoFo notched five runs in the third inning.  The Indian batters contributing to the big inning included Ethan Powell, Jett Burger, Mark Fitz, and Austin Mann as each had RBI singles.

Drew Goshorn started the game for Fannett Metal. Goshorn surrendered nine runs on nine hits over four and a third innings, striking out one and walking one.  Noah Naugle threw one-third of an inning out of the bullpen.

Southern Fulton totaled 11 hits. Ethan Powell (single, double, and triple) , Hunter Ward, and Josh Morgan each racked up multiple hits. 

The Indians travel to Forbes Road on Monday, April 3 to take on the Cardinals at 4:30pm.

SOFTBALL: Southern Fulton Lady Indians (2-1) hosted the Fannet-Metal Lady Tigers Thursday evening, with the Indians winning 14-1 in 5 innings. Emma Smith(1-0) was the winning pitcher for Southern Fulton, recording 6 strikeouts, while allowing 9 hits with no walks. Rylea Lynch went 2 for 3 with a Grand Slam to lead the Indians at the plate.

S. Wolf went 3 for 3 and was the losing pitcher for the Tigers.
