Fannett-Metal (5-1) went on the road and picked up an ICC league victory over Claysburg-Kimmel. The Tigers pounded out 13 hits and benefited from 13 walks and hit batters to roll past the Bulldogs by a score of 20-1. “We had a very good approach at the plate today. We drew a lot of walks, but when they threw strikes, we attacked the ball and hit it hard”, said Fannett-Metal Coach Paul Coffman.
Colton Friese led the offensive attack with 3 hits and 5 RBIs. Also having a multi hit game for the Tigers were Alex Umbrell with a pair of hits and 4 RBIs, Wyatt Appleby with 2 hits and 3 RBIs, and Luke Coffman with 2 hits and 4 runs scored. Other Tigers with one hit were Landon Arnold, Rylin Sharar, Hunter Hill, and Jake Coffman.
Luke Coffman started and pitched two innings. He gave up 1 run on 2 hits and had 1 K. Wade Appleby relieved Coffman in the 3rd inning and shut the Bulldogs down in order.
The Tigers will visit Everett next Tuesday at 4:30 in an ICC league contest.
