Fannett-Metal(1-0) travelled to Forbes Road for an ICC contest. The Tigers jumped out to a 9-1 lead in the first inning. In the second and third innings, the Tigers erupted for 20 runs to take home a 29-1 victory. “We made some solid contact throughout the game but especially in the first inning. We also capitalized on several mistakes made by the Cardinals defense”, said F-M Coach Paul Coffman.
Luke Coffman started and went all three innings for the Tigers to get the win. He gave up 3 hits, 1 Run(1ER), 1 BB, and 8 K. “Luke commanded his pitches well today. He gave up 1 sharply hit ball and two bloop singles “, Coffman said. Porter McMath started and took the loss for the Cardinals.
Offensively, Wade Appleby, Luke Coffman, Landon Arnold, Colton Friese, and Alex Umbrell all had three hits. Wyatt Appleby, Rylin Sharar, Drew Goshorn and Jake Coffman all added one hit. Luke Coffman, Sharar and Umbrell all had doubles while Arnold added a triple. For the Cardinals, Porter McMath added a double.
The Tigers will travel to Tussey Mountain on Friday for a 4:30 start.
