Fannett-Metal (10-10, 9-5 ICC) bounced back from Friday night’s ICC loss to Southern Fulton with a 82-43 win over visiting Forbes Road. The Tigers jumped out to a 18-9 lead after the first quarter of play. Wyatt Appleby accounted for 9 of those points and Luke Coffman knocked down a pair of treys for 6 first quarter points. The Tigers outscored the Cardinals in the second quarter to go into the half with a 38-26 lead. In the second half, Fannett-Metal knocked down ten treys to run away with the 82-43 victory.
“I was concerned with how we would bounce back from a tough loss on Friday night, but when we share the basketball like we did tonight and make that extra pass to the open man we can be tough to defend”, Fannett-Metal Coach Paul Coffman said.
Wyatt Appleby had a game high 23 points to go along with 9 rebounds. Hunter Hill had 22 points(6 treys)and 4 assists. Luke Coffman finished with 11 points(3 treys) and 6 assists. Ayden Warren had 7 points, Evan Wingert 6 points and 8 rebounds, and Drew Goshorn had 6 points. Also scoring for the Tigers were Jake Coffman with 3 points, Landon Arnold 2 points and Riley Martin 2 points and 8 rebounds.
The Tigers return to action on Monday night against the visiting Bulldogs from Claysburg-Kimmel with the JV game starting at 6:00.
