Penn State Mont Alto clinches PSUAC West Division

Penn State Mont Alto clinched the PSUAC West Division with a 68-58 win over Penn State Beaver Sunday at Mont Alto. A Nathan Osei three-point basket on an assist by Christian Rogers Jr. put Penn State Mont Alto out in front early, leading 9-2. Beaver went on an 11-0 run to take a 13-9 lead, back-to-back baskets by Chris Green tied the contest at 13-13 with 8:27 remaining in the first half.

Devon Johnson connected on a jumper to give Penn State Beaver a 24-16 lead late in the first half, their largest lead of the half. Mont Alto responded with a 7-0 run capped off by a Quintyn Flemister layup sent Penn State Mont Alto into the locker room up 27-26.

Cameron Williams went on his own 8-0 run to build a cushion for Penn State Mont Alto late in the second half.

Penn State Mont Alto improves to (19-3 overall, 14-1 PSUAC), Penn State Beaver falls to (11-10 overall, 9-7 PSUAC).

Penn State Mont Alto fell to Penn State Beaver 69-51 Sunday in Beaver. Four quick points by Alexia Hackett followed by a Brianna Muldrow layup gave Penn State Mont Alto a 11-2 lead four minutes into the contest. A turnover by Madison Bishop led to a Jimya Chambers steal and layup, giving Penn State Beaver a 6-0 run and the lead back with the score 12-11.

A 13-0 Penn State Beaver run was capped off by a pair of Emily Keener free throws, giving them a  33-31 halftime lead.

Penn State Mont Alto scored only eight points in the third quarter, as Penn State Beaver took a 53-39 lead into the final frame.

Brianna Muldrow scored four points in the fourth quarter as Penn State Mont Alto couldn’t complete the comeback.

Penn State Beaver improves to (13-7 overall, 11-5 PSUAC), Penn State Mont Alto falls to (8-11 overall, 6-9 PSUAC)

Both teams host Penn State DuBois on Tuesday evening, women’s game is at 6. The 2021 PSUAC Champion Women’s Soccer Team and 2021 USCAA National Runner-Up Women’s Volleyball Team will be honored at halftime of the men’s game
