The Shippensburg Greyhounds bolted to a 20-8 first quarter lead, increased it to 17 at halftime, and won by 23, 68-45 over the West Perry Mustangs in Mid-Penn Colonial action Tuesday night.
The Greyhounds, (10-1,7-0MPC) placed four players in double figures led by Jeremy Thomas with 16. He was joined by Anthony Smith with 13, Jayden Statum with 11, and Graison Michaljuk with 10.
Greyson Shambaugh led the Mustangs, (4-13, 0-11MPC) with 17.
Head coach Ray Staver said, “We had good balanced scoring. I think our execution was good at times but other times not very good. We’re trying to emphasize getting better every game.”
Shippensburg has a short turn around as they travel to Dillsburg to take on Northern York in a rescheduled game then return home Friday night to take on Greencastle. Game time Wednesday night is 7pm. Northern lost to Waynesboro, 37-24, Tuesday night.
Notes: Anthony Smith came into the game needing 46 points to hit the 1,000 point mark for his career. He’s now 33 away. The Greyhounds went to the foul line 28 times, hitting 15.
