HAGERSTOWN, Md. – Cumberland Valley Christian’s Wyatt Pine broke the school record for goals in a season as the Blazers defeated Highland View 6-0 Thursday in a non-league boys soccer game.
Pine scored four goals, giving him 48 for the season. Pine has also registered 26 assists.
Nollin Egolf and Felix Kauffeldt also added goals. Mario Wiesman delivered three assists, Josh Rowe had two and Landon Kellogg one.
On Tuesday, the Blazers routed New Life 11-1 to wind up their Mason Dixon Christian Conference regular-season schedule.
Pine scored five goals in that game to lead the Blazers (18-1, 11-1 MDCC). Wiesman and Rowe contributed two goals apiece, and Sam Hepler and Max Crawford each added a goal.
Wiesman had three assists; he now had 28 for the season. Pine and Crawford had two assists, and Kellogg, Rowe, Egolf and Finlay Smith added one each.
The Blazers enter the MDCC playoffs next week as the top seed. They will host the winner of the Grace-Faith game in Thursday’s semifinal. The championship (1 p.m.) and consolation (11 a.m.) games are Oct. 23 at Greencastle-Antrim High School.
