For the second consecutive match, the Cumberland Valley Christian Blazers saw a 2-0 lead slip away.
It happened Monday against Grace Academy in a 3-2 defeat and again on Thursday in a 3-2 loss to Shalom Christian in a Mason Dixon Christian Conference girls volleyball match.
The Blazers (6-8, 4-8 MDCC) earned victories in the first two sets by scores of 25-20 and 25-22, but they couldn’t cement the victory. Shalom (9-4 MDCC) rallied for victories of 25-14 and 25-19 to tie the match and then defeated the Blazers 15-7 in the deciding set.
For the Blazers, Morgan Householder led with 22 kills and 10 digs. Kendra Bard added 10 digs and four kills, and Peyton Timmons had seven digs and three aces. Regan Bard had 31 assists, Julia Waltz added seven kills, and Evelyn Ebersole had five digs.
Shalom won the JV match, 2-0.
