GIRLS SOCCER
Chambersburg 4, Cedar Cliff 0: The Trojans scored a pair of goals in each half and snapped a three-game losing skid with a shutout win over the Colts in Mid Penn Commonwealth action on Wednesday afternoon on the road.

“We came out a little flat in the first half, although we did score two goals,” Chambersburg coach Ed Franchi said. “Bridget (Kemerer) made a couple of great saves in the first half that helped us big time. We played a lot better in the second half and limited their opportunities.”

Aubrey Pyne scored in the 28th minutes on a pass from Nether Dean, and Lindsay Swanger scored unassisted with six minutes to go before the half. The last two goals for the Trojans (3-3, 1-2 MPC) were by Pyne (assisted by Lily Nichter) and Nichter (assisted by Kat Betris).

Franchi said, “Lindsay played a heck of a game. I gave her some time at outside mid and she created many opportunities for us. Aubrey also played very well and it was nice to see her put two in.”
