Willow Hill, Pa. – The Cardinals and Tigers resumed play from their suspended game on April 4th. The score was tied 5-5 after 9 innings. The Cardinals squandered a great opportunity in the 12th inning with a runner on 3rd and one out, but a pair of strikeouts by Tiger starter Kyler Goshorn ended the threat. In the 13th inning the Tigers loaded the bases with two outs, when Luke Coffman’s ground ball was misplayed allowing Rylin Sharar and Colton Friese to score the go ahead runs. The Tigers added another run off an error to make it 8-5. Winning pitcher Kyler Goshorn, then, sat the Cardinals down in order to get the win.
Game 2
Forbes Road 14 Fannett Metal 1 (6 innings)
Willow Hill, Pa. – In game two the Cardinals jumped out to an early lead and continued to add runs throughout the game. Five different Tiger pitchers issued 15 walks and hit batters in the game. Forbes Road had six hits in the game, led by Logan Deshong (2 for 3, 3 RBI and a double). Grayson Hall scored 3 runs, while Caleb Hershey and Caleb McGowan both scored a pair. Levi Truax had a triple and 2 RBIs. For the Tigers, Luke Coffman had a pair of hits and a RBI. Frankie Ryder had the only other hit for the Tigers in the game. Logan Deshong was the winning pitcher, giving up only one run on three hits. Wyatt Appleby was tagged with the loss. The Tigers (4-11, 2-10 ICC) travel to McConnellsburg on Thursday for a 6:00 start. Forbes Road (7-5, 5-5 ICC) will host Tussey Mt. on Thursday at 4:30.
