The James Buchanan Lady Rockets racked up a season-high 16 hits and rolled to an 11-1 five-inning win over Middletown on Monday in a non-league softball game.
JB (12-3) scored 1 run in the first inning, 6 in the second and put the game away with a 4-run fourth.
Maddie Bailey, Maria Burkett and Kate Ebersole each had 3 hits for the Lady Rockets while Grace Amsley and Jenna Mongold each had 2. Mongold added 3 RBI and Bailey and Burkett each had 2.
Lizzie Pittman earned the victory, giving up just 2 hits, 2 walks, 1 run (unearned) and struck out 7.
The Lady Rockets host rival Greencastle-Antrim on Wednesday (4:30 p.m.) in Mid Penn Colonial Division game. The winner will take over sole possession of first place.
