Everett 5 Forbes Road 1
Everett, Pa. – Forbes Road (1-1, 1-1 ICC) plated an unearned run in the first inning, but the Cardinals were unable to add throughout the final six frames. Everett’s Jared College stifled the Cardinal bats, firing a complete game three hitter. Ethan Wright took the tough-luck loss for the Cardinals, pitching 4-plus solid innings before Everett rallied. Forbes Road (1-1, 1-1 ICC) returns to action tomorrow, hosting Shanksville at 4:30 PM.
Tussey Mt. 5 Southern Fulton 4
Saxton, Pa. – It came down to the last play, but Southern Fulton (2-1, 2-1 ICC) was on the wrong end of a 5-4 defeat to Tussey Mountain on Tuesday. The game was tied at four with Tussey Mountain batting in the bottom of the seventh, when Brendan Gorey singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. Tussey Mountain got things moving in the first inning, when Matt Leonard doubled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.
Brady Villa led things off on the mound for Tussey Mountain. He surrendered four runs on ten hits over seven innings, striking out two. Konner Pittman toed the rubber for Southern Fulton. He went two-thirds of an inning, allowing three runs on two hits. Dylan Melton and Isaac Fitz entered the game from the bullpen, throwing three and two-thirds innings and two innings respectively. Tussey has 11 hits in the win.
The Indians totaled ten hits. Holden Stotler and Pittman each collected multiple hits. Stotler led the Indians with three hits in three at bats. Southern Fulton will travel to Northern Bedford on Thursday at 4:30.
Southern Huntingdon 19 Fannett Metal 4
Orbisonia, Pa. – Southern Huntingdon pounded out 15 hits, which included six extra base hits enrout to a 19-4 mercy rule win over visiting Fannett-Metal (0-3, 0-3 ICC). The Rockets scored eight runs in the first and never looked back. “We were no match for their bats tonight,” Coffman said. For the Tigers, Rylin Sharar had a two run double in the 4th and Wes Moats followed with an RBI single. The Tigers travel to Forbes Road on Thursday for a 4:30 start.
