Chambersburg 10, Spring Grove 4: The Trojans captured their first victory of the year, outscoring the Rockets 4-1 in the second period and 3-1 in the third to put the non-league win away.
“It was nice to get a win — we cleaned up a lot of the mistakes we’d been making and we moved the ball well,” Trojan coach Paul Flohr said. “Now we need to go on a run.”
A trio of Chambersburg players each posted two goals — Austin Brookens, Haden Ocker and Klein Burkholder.
Aidan Brechbill scored with 24 seconds left in the half, and Brookens followed with a goal 10 seconds later to make it 5-2.
Thomas Elia, Dom Marangoni and Ben Melago also scored goals, while Elia had a pair of assists and Ocker and Burkholder had one each.
Angel Santos made 13 saves in goal for the Trojans (1-3), and Nash Bothe and Ocker each won six ground balls. Chambersburg and Spring Grove each won nine face-offs, while the Rockets had eight penalties to the Trojans’ two.

Chambersburg 3, New Oxford 0: The Trojans connected on nearly 40% of their kill attempts and overwhelmed New Oxford 3-0 in a non-league match Monday evening.
Chambersburg (2-1) won comfortable games of 25-17, 25-19 and 25-14.
Trey Stepler led in service points with 22 and added 15 assists. Wes Newman scored 14 points and led in digs with 12.
Josiah Picard led in kills with 10 (the team hit .392), while Jaylen Thomas and William Simmers each had six. Simmers and Thomas also split four block kills evenly.
Also for the Trojans, Spencer Rajtik had 20 assists, Picard and Swain each came up with 11 digs and Swain and Braden Byers each had five kills.

Palmyra 5, Chambersburg 0: The Cougars allowed only four games to be won in singles play and one in doubles and swept the Trojans in a non-league match Monday.
At No. 2 singles, Chambersburg’s Kadyn Taylor won two games in the second set against Brady McLucas and at No. 3, LeShan Wilkinson took a game in each match vs. Brendan Byler.
The No. 1 doubles team of Vincent Wijaya and Nate Irvin for the Trojans (0-6) also won a game.
