Cumberland Valley eliminates Waynesboro

In a tight game Cumberland Valley who had lost four of their last five games took advantage of Waynesboro turnovers early in the fourth quarter and eliminated the Indians with a 55-52 win at Waynesboro Tuesday night. Waynesboro led after three quarters 41-39, then the Eagles went on a 7-0 run to start the fourth quarter aided by three Waynesboro turnovers and an offensive foul on the Indians.

The Eagles placed four players in double figures led by Omar Tandir with 16. Ty Banach scored 12, Harris Vorwald 11 and Ethan Levis 10.

Jay Alvarez and Cole Rhine each had 18 for the Indians.

Cumberland Valley moves on to the quarterfinals as they travel to #1 Wilson (19-3) on Friday night.

Waynesboro finishes the season at 17-5.
