The Cumberland Valley Christian Blazers won their fourth straight game by beating Faith Christian 42-18 Friday night in a Mason-Dixon Christian Conference girls basketball game.

The Blazers led 14-5 at the end of the first quarter and then rolled to a 28-7 halftime lead.

They substituted liberally in the second half in improving their record to 10-5, 6-2 MDCC, good for third place in the league. They had picked up consecutive wins over Heritage and Broadfording, handing Heritage its first league loss of the season last Friday.

“We started off slowly; Faith played well in the first quarter,” CVCS coach Dylan Ward said. “But we are a very deep team and really played well on defense to hold them to two points in the second quarter.”

Laurel Reitz poured in 15 points to lead the Blazers. Kyleigh Teal added nine points and Amber Yanosik contributed six. Also landing in the scoring column for the Blazers were Jalen Moats with four points, and Maddie Eberly, Emmalyn Hott, Mariah Peck and Keagan Yarboro with two apiece.
