Forbes Road 67 Hancock 63 OT

Hancock, Md. – Forbes Road (4-7) scored 13 points in overtime to outlast Hancock in a non league contest 67 to 63. Quincy McMath had a big game for the Cardinals scoring 28 points and pulling down 10 rebounds. Hannah Skiles added 17 points and Mara Broadwater pulled down 15 rebounds and had 7 points in the win. Hancock scoring was led by Sarah Kerns with 15 points and Laura Golden added 14. Cardinal Coach Jamie Gelvin commented, “Tonight was a nail-biter for us. We would get an 8-10 point lead but they fought hard to climb back into the game. Both teams fought hard and deserved the win tonight.  We have to do a better job of keeping our composure and closing out games.  Mara pulled down some monster rebounds in OT and hit a couple big buckets. Her senior leadership really shined through tonight.” No JV Game. Forbes Road will host McConnellsburg on Thursday at 6:00.

Fannett Metal 63 Northern Bedford 59

Willow Hill, Pa. – Fannett Metal (6-7, 2-5 ICC) hosted league foe Northern Bedford and downed the Black Panthers 63 to 59. The Tigers were paced by Hunter Hill with 19 points and Timber Brookens added 17. C Diehl led NBC with 24 points and H Foor added 16. JV – NBC 33 FM 24. Fannett Metal will host Southern Fulton on Friday.

Tussey Mt. 69 McConnellsburg 42

Saxton, Pa. – McConnellsburg (5-7, 3-4 ICC) traveled to Tussey Mt. and fell in a league contest 69 to 42. Dominick Reed scored 13 points and had 10 rebounds, while Lucas McClain added 10 points. JV- MHS 48 TM 37 (MHS – Zander Sipes 21 points and 12 rebounds). The Spartans will host Forbes Road on Friday at 6:00.

Everett 64 Forbes Road 39

Everett, Pa. – Forbes Road (6-6, 3-4 ICC) trailed just 20-15 at the intermission, but could not keep pace with host Everett in the second half.  Everett posted 22 points in the third and fourth periods to pull away for the 64-39 victory.  Cardinal coach Pete Hall commented, “We controlled the pace and played a very solid overall first half.  Everett was able to push the tempo and find open looks in the second half, and they just wore us down.  We were anxious to see how we had improved from our season opener with these guys, and we showed definite growth.”  Grayson Hall (14) and Justin Garman (10) paced the Cardinals attack.  JV – EHS 79 FR 20 (FR – Rain Gelvin 9 points) Forbes Road returns to action on Friday, visiting McConnellsburg.
