Several Trojans place at indoor track meet

HAGERSTOWN, Md. — Chambersburg sent a contingent of track & field athletes to the Mountain Express Holiday Invitational at Hagerstown Community College on Friday and came with several high finishes.

Brock Harmon landed a throw of 49-8.25 to capture the shot put for the only first place for the Trojans.

In distance events, Trentin Overcash was second in the 800 race (2:10.12) and also the 1600 (4:44.96), while freshman Zack Yourkavitch took 11th in the 800 (2:18.02) in his debut race.

In the sprints, Tyeshawn Worrell placed second in the 55 dash in 6.80, and anchored the runner-up 4 x 200 team of Nate Cooper, Diontae Barbour and Karter Jones, which was just 0.14 behind South Hagerstown after Worrell ran a fast final leg.

For the girls, Shanelle Burrowes was second in the 55 (7.83) and placed fourth in the 300 in 45.22. Ainslee Ackerman was third in the pole vault at 8-6, while Madison Yost’s PR of 30-3 was good for seventh in the shot put.
